・Production scenery

The scientific name is ASAKURA ZANSHO.
A rare variety with very low yields.
Seed-grown seedlings take three years to identify as female trees, and only 10% of all seedlings are female.
All male trees that do not bear fruit serve as rootstocks for grafting.

This sansho is used not only in famous restaurants in Japan, but also in Michelin-starred restaurants in the US, and is highly praised by chefs overseas.
